Resident Artists
Theatre has always been a magical escape for me, a place where creativity and community intertwine. Growing up, I was captivated not just by the performers on stage but by the invisible crew—the stagehands clad in black, the unsung heroes who bring the magic to life.
That fascination, sparked by my mother’s love for the arts and memories like my first Broadway show, Spamalot, in 2003, still lingers today. So, when I had the chance to review the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble’s 48th season opener, The 39 Steps, I was thrilled to dive back into the world behind the curtain.
One email later, I was invited to step into the Alvina Krause Theatre , the beloved home of the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble for the past 45 years, to interview resident artists Amy Rene Byrne, Kimie Muroya, and Aaron White.
Without further ado, please enjoy our exclusive interview with the talented resident artistis of the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble.

Words can scarcely capture the whirlwind of emotions stirred by this truly once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Ever since arriving in central Pennsylvania in 2022 and attending my first show—as Mr. Aaron White reminded me, The Thin Place—I’ve dreamed of a chance like this. To step back into the enchanting world of theatre.
To share that passion with others.
Theatre—and the arts in general—forms a vital cornerstone of our shared human experience. It offers people like you and me an essential escape from the everyday, even if only for a few hours. It gives creativity room to breathe and ignite.
It becomes a spark that inspires generations to come.
To Amy, Kimie, Aaron, Emma—and everyone else at the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble—thank you for inviting Stay2uned behind the scenes and for letting us help share BTE’s story with the world.
We look forward to reviewing your shows for many years to come.
