What began earlier today as one interesting and confusing scavenger hunt, kicked off by the lovely folks at Netflix, lead fans to discover the release date of the sixth and final season of “Lucifer.” And what better timing was there then during the second running of SDCC Comic-Con @ Home. Said scavenger hunt lasted for the final few hours leading up to the much anticipated “Lucifer” SDCC Comic-Con panel, which dropped at 5:00 PM PST/8:00 PM EST. The clues – “2D6E1YRX” – lead to a website which contained the release date trailer for season six, and our first true look of the show’s final season.

Like so many of you, yours truly is still processing the fact that this incredible show is coming to an end. This wasn’t a surprise by any means, as we have known now for a while that season six would truly be the show’s last. However, the surprise of the matter is how soon season six is premiering. It was believed that we would get it sometime next year. To quote the official synopsis… “Bring tissues.”

Speaking of, here is the official synopsis for the final season:

“This is it, the final season of Lucifer. For real this time. The devil himself has become God… almost. Why is he hesitating? And as the world starts to unravel without a God, what will he do in response? Join us as we say a bittersweet goodbye to Lucifer, Chloe, Amenadiel, Maze, Linda, Ella and Dan. Bring tissues.”

No, not ready to say goodbye to them…*ugly cries*. (Ahem), sadly all good things must come to an end; however, on the bright side the story will end properly. Much like how last season was a love letter to us, the fans – season six continues that tradition. On one hand, I am eager to watch the final season and yet, on the other hand, I am not.

For now, we leave you with the “Lucifer” SDCC 2021 Panel, hosted by another familiar faced Devil by the name of Luke Cook. He played “Lucifer Moringstar” in another Netflix show, “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.” The final season of “Lucifer” will premiere September 10th, 2021 on Netflix.

And as always, stay 2uned 😉
