**Spoiler Warning: Ye Be Warned**
—
Very seldom do I write a post -episode review of a television show. – yet, after this episode, where does one even start? Tonight’s episode of Hallmark’s “The Way Home” was nothing short of sensational – with a capital S.
First and foremost, without any apologies, can we discuss that moment between “Kat” (Chyler Leigh) and “Susanna” (Watson Rose)? My poor heart was practically racing out of my chest! Was anyone else yelling at the television for them to KISS?! That tender, visceral exchange between these two passionate, ethereal women was truly beautiful.

The rest of the episode was just as captivating.
As expected, many questions were answered, but in true The Way Home fashion, they left us with even more. This is why we need several more seasons after this one. Also, is it too early to partition every award show to consider The Way Home as a contender?
Ahem, I digress.
To keep this article concise, I’ve decided to highlight a few favorite moments from tonight’s astonishing episode. (In no particular order.)
The White Witch –

Kat has officially cemented her role as the White Witch – and in the process, put one Cyrus Goodwin – (Owen Fawcett) in his place. It was about time, too. And with her girl, Susanna rallying the crowd to free the “witch”. That entire sequence in the town square had a bewitching charm to it – if you ask me.
We also witnessed the Pond (more on that in a moment) launching Kat from one century to another, and then onto the next. In an interesting twist, it was Kat who saved a younger Evelyn and Colton from drowning in the pond back in 1965!
Was that really such a stretch? After all, she is, was, and always will be the infamous White Witch.

Another Awkward Student/Teacher Moment –

Remember those earlier seasons when Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow) would turn to Elliot (Evan Williams) for guidance on the complexities of time travel? Those interactions often led to some pretty awkward moments. Well, get ready, because they’re back!
Shortly after Alice asks Elliot a question about trying to fight Fate, Elliot launches into a hilarious tangent. He talks about how his love life, including Alice’s mother’s, is his business. Naturally, other faculty members passing by overhear this conversation and, well, judge.
To be fair, who would blame them?

Young Del & Colton –
What isn’t there to love about these two? In tonight’s episode, we see teen Del (Julia Tomasone ) visiting the famous Landry Farm. She is accompanied by her knight in denim – teen Colton (Jordan Doww) . These two share what can best be described as a Notebook moment. The scene itself felt timeless and offered a nice momentary reprieve from the other events unfolding.

Wedding Crashing and Record Scratches –
Would you travel back in time to stop/save your best friend from a marriage to a questionable person? That is exactly what one Kat Landry does, and naturally, nothing goes to plan. Apparently, while trying her best to blend in – she clasps hands with a certain, dashing gentleman – Thomas Coyle (Kris Holden-Ried). Playful banter ensues as they each tell the other one that they are there to save Susanna. During this, Thomas ends up having one of the best lines of the episode.

Naturally, neither one of their plans goes, well, you know – and, an ensuing mob forms demanding blood. Personally, the entirety of this scene was a favorite. Including the almost ending of Cyrus by an enraged Jacob (Spence Macpherson), and, subsequent talking -down-from-the-ledge by his father /ancestor – Elijah Landry (Stuart Hughes)

The Pond –
Oh pond, you are such a card!
This time-traveling, mysterious body of water on Landry land has so many unknowns. It serves at the center of some of the most heart-wrenching, emotional scenes during the course of the show. Tonight was no different. From Kat delivering the most unwelcoming revelations to her baby brother, and, shortly thereafter to her mother – the Pond has seen it all, and then some. Oh, and let us not forget the new, all year round activity – pond yeeting.
As in the Pond yeeted Kat from 1816 to 1965, and then, back to 2025.
Yes, yeeting is a word, and a fun one to use at that.
Moreover, we saw the first interaction between Del (Andie MacDowell) and Kat (Chyler Leigh) at, wait for it… the POND! Still though, it leaves one to question just what exactly mama Landry was doing at the pond in the first place.
Poor Kat. Someone give her a hug.
