Today’s the day!

The Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble proudly opens its heartwarming holiday tradition: A Charlie Brown Christmas. By the time you’re reading this, our incredible cast and crew will already be taking the stage for their first performance of this beloved holiday classic.

I can’t tell you how thrilled I am that this play is finally here.

What makes this production extra special? Not only are there fun special events tied to the run (check our previous post!), but we’re doing something truly unique: two completely different casts of amazingly talented young performers—the Red Cast and the Green Cast—alternating performances.

Double the joy, double the jazz, double the Snoopy dances!

Without further ado, here’s the full official press release for the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble’s presentation of A Charlie Brown Christmas:

“BLOOMSBURG THEATRE ENSEMBLE ANNOUNCES A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS

CAST AND CREATIVE TEAM

BLOOMSBURG – OCTOBER 31 – The Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble announces the complete cast and creative team of their holiday show, A Charlie Brown Christmas by Charles M. Schulz, based on the television special by Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson, stage adaptation by Eric Schaeffer, and special Arrangement by Arthur Whitelaw and Ruby Persson. The show runs from November 28th through December 27th at the Alvina Krause Theatre in Bloomsburg.

Under BTE Resident Artist Aaron White’s direction, BTE Resident Artist Kimie Muroya will lead two alternating casts of ten young actors as Snoopy, America’s favorite beagle. Carson Feger and Cole Clugston will lead as Charlie Brown in the red and green casts respectively.

“The Ensemble recognizes that seeing a Holiday show at BTE is an essential part of our community’s holiday season traditions. I feel how big a responsibility that is, especially producing a favorite story like A Charlie Brown Christmas,” said White. “It’s an important gift we get to share and I take it very seriously – just as serious as Charlie Brown takes finding the perfect tree!”

The Red Cast features Eugene Knight as Linus, Alexia Long as Lucy, Kendal Marcotte as Frieda, Liam White as Schroeder, David Knight as Pig Pen, Luciana McHenry as Sally, Ryann Francis as Shermy, Shaela McCrone as Patty, and Ada Trombley as Violet.

The Green Cast features Victor Troychock as Linus, Rosie Vogt as Lucy, Scarlett Roy as Frieda, Finnegan Foran as Schroeder, Zev McCallum as Pig Pen, Stella Bailey as Sally, Aiden Kawas as Shermy, Audrey Burnett as Patty, and Margot Sutton Figueroa as Violet.

White is joined by a skilled team of local and regional theatre artists to fill out the production’s creative team. Amanda Haney, a music teacher in the Williamsport Area School District, a graduate of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania MFA program, and a self-proclaimed Charlie Brown Christmas fanatic is the show’s music director. She will lead a live jazz trio at each performance.

The creative team includes Alejandro Ridolfi as the lighting designer, Isy Kessler as the scenic designer, Jennifer Lippert as costume
designer Philip Haney as the Sound Designer and Engineer, Rae Weber as Production Stage Manager, and Heather Rummings as Assistant Stage Manager and Deck Captain. BTE Resident Artists Amy Rene Byrne and Kimie Muroya are collaborating on props design.

The play’s plot closely follows the beloved 1965 animated special. When Charlie Brown isn’t feeling the Christmas spirit, his (not professionally licensed) psychiatrist, Lucy Van Pelt, appoints him director of the gang’s Christmas play. When he chooses a small and sickly Christmas tree as the show’s centerpiece, the cast revolts. It turns out Charlie Brown isn’t the only one who doesn’t understand Christmas.

A Charlie Brown Christmas is set to join the ranks of BTE’s many productions taking holiday stories from screen to stage.

“It feels like we’ve just finished our collecting the three crown jewels of holiday pop culture classics: A Christmas Story, A Christmas Carol, and A Charlie Brown Christmas,” said Emma Ginader, BTE’s Communications Coordinator. “I’m honored that we get to share this adaptation with our community. I’m hoping it will join our roster of regular holiday staples.”

The production begins with a special food preview on November 28th, 2025 at 2:00 PM. Instead of paying a traditional admission fee, audience members will donate a canned or non-perishable food item to the Bloomsburg Food Cupboard. On November 29th, BTE will host the Low Price Preview at 2:00 PM and the opening night performance at 7:30 PM. The Kathy Baas Sensory Friendly Performance will be held on December 6th at 2:00PM.

Showtimes are 7:30 PM on Thursdays and Fridays, 2:00 and 7:30 PM on Saturdays, and 3:00 PM on Sundays. Regular admission is $15 for youth/students (2 to 21), $10 for Commonwealth University Bloomsburg students, and $30 for adults. Low Price Preview tickets are $15 for every group.
