#NYCC Day One – Recap

Traditionally – fans and everyone associated with the pop culture world would currently & physically be in the Big Apple right about now. Alas, given the current and ever changing world around us, physical attendance just wasn’t possible. But as the saying goes, “the show must go on”, and it did. Joining the ranks of other pop culture conventions, the 2020 New York Comic Con, a.k.a NYCC, took to YouTube beginning yesterday.

And right out of the gate, NYCC delivered some absolutely amazing panels – from BBC America’s “Doctor Who”, Star Trek Universe, (where it was announced that ‘Kathryn Janeway’, a.k.a Kate Mulgrew, will be returning to said universe… YES! “Star Trek: Voyager” was one and still is one of my favorite television shows.) “WolfWalkers”, Amazon Prime’s “Utopia”, and many, many others. Normally, these bigger named panels would be held either on Friday or Saturday. I went back to count just how many events took place yesterday, on DAY ONE – and the final tally was 42…. That is absolutely mind blowing! From the few panels that I watched yesterday, everything seemed to go rather smoothly. Major props to everyone at ReedPop/NYCC/MCM for such an amazing first day of #NYCCMetaverse.

There are three more days of amazing events at #NYCCMetaverse and I would highly recommend checking them out. Some of the panels that yours truly is looking forward to are the “Batman Beyond” panel, “American Gods”, “A Discovery of Witches”, “Smallville”, “Batman: Death in the Family” – the list is endless. Tell us on Twitter what panels and events you are most looking forward to.

For additional information, check out NYCC’s official Twitter @NY_Comic_Con and online at https://www.findthemetaverse.com.

And always, stay 2uned ;).
